Decade of Divine - building a brand for the 21st century

Divine began its 10th birthday celebrations in style with the exhibition 'A Decade of Divine - Building a brand for the 21st Century' at the Oxo Tower gallery this month.

The show which featured some of the stunning photography taken on Kuapa Kokoo farms over the last ten years, and the rollercoaster story of the brand's journey from its inception in 1998, aimed to demonstrate that chocolate business can be done differently.

Divine invited as many people as possible who have played their important part along the way to a reception  in order to say thank you  and pay tribute to the amazing support and determination they have given. Guests of honour were Comfort Kumeah, Chair of the Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Trust, and Kwabena Ohemeng-Tinyase, Managing Director of Kuapa Kokoo Ltd.

Douglas Alexander, Secretary of State for International Development, sent this greeting to Divine:

“I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there with you this evening to celebrate ten years of Divine chocolate. I’m delighted that the Department for International Development was able to play a small part in helping Divine to get started – but the credit for Divine’s success goes to the vision, business acumen and determination of those people who built it up from scratch. You have helped to put Fairtrade on the map – and more importantly, on the shopping list. I wish you the very best for your next ten years.”
