  • We are very sorry you have interpreted our viral campaign as in any way aggressive. Our eggs are chocolate and the G20 leaders get to eat them - and you can hear them enjoy them! The idea is to "egg them on" rather than to attack them with eggs. Our desire to keep fair trade on the G20 agenda is very serious - but in true Divine style (and to help the viral campaign get sent to lots of people) the approach is fun - and certainly not hostile. We do hope you will be appreciate our campaign in the spirit in which it was intended. We are very delighted that 1781 e-postcards have now been sent to the G20 leaders with our clear message regarding fairer trade.

  • I am not impressed by the eggapolitician idea: I was shocked when I saw the advert in the Guardian. I feel there is an underlying message that it is OK to throw eggs at politicans: however much we might disagree with what some politicians are doing, I perceive this as an aggressive act and doesn't fit at all well with me. I am a Fairtrader with Traidcraft and sell Divine chocolate in my Church. This seems to be an unnecessary gimmick with a negative undertone: please try to be positive in future campaigns. I do not see this as a harmless joke. I am all for campaigning and regularly write to my MP, but this is going too far!
