Everyone loves a little sweetness in their lives but we have such easy access to sugar we are generally oblivious to the precariousness of life behind each glistening spoonful.

Much of the sugar we buy comes from some of the poorest people in the world – like the sugar farmers of Malawi. In Malawi 85% of the population is dependent on agriculture, with sugar one of its three biggest exports.

Recent heavy rainfall caused by Cyclone Idai has resulted in the worst recorded flooding in four decades and catastrophic damage.

Divine Chocolate has worked closely with Kasinthula in the past and supported them through previous extreme weather events.
