Joanne is the writer, photographer, and eater behind Eats Well With Others. She started the blog back in 2009 during her senior year in college as a way to teach herself how to cook and avoid dorm food (and, consequently, high cholesterol) at all costs. What started as just a spur-of-the-moment whim has morphed into something she spent the majority of her time thinking about, an obsession if you will. Two years ago, she embraced a vegetarian whole-foods based lifestyle and hasn’t looked back. That being said, she still eats sushi when the mood strikes and she always make room for dessert. Always. And she hate most salads. Yes, she's that kind of vegetarian. During the day, she moonlights as an MD/PhD student in New York City where she spends her hours trying to further elucidate the molecular mechanism of insulin signaling in fat cells. While simultaneously pondering what she should bake next. Suffice it to say, it’s a balance.
