Erik Houlihan-Jong is one of Divine Chocolate’s brand ambassadors. Sharing the inspirational story of the world’s only 100% Fairtrade chocolate company, The Chocolateers use stories, tastings and recipe demonstrations to engage audiences across the country.
Originally from Canada, Erik has made the UK his home for the past 15 years. His interest in the world of food began when working as a barista, he discovered that coffee tasting was something one should take very seriously. Erik has been experimenting in the kitchen since he was a child: baking, cooking, and testing new recipes in order to perfect them. He also enjoys discovering new cookbooks and food blogs, and of course getting out there to try new flavours.
Erik is passionate about all things food! He has a confident and friendly presentation style which works well when sharing the thought provoking stories of the Divine farmers. He holds degrees in Music and Drama Education and has taught in a number of Secondary and Primary schools in London and the West Country for over a decade. He is comfortable working with both large and small groups, ranging in age from young children to the elderly.
Erik has delivered cookery team building workshops for city firms EY and Norton Rose Fulbright, run baking workshops for The John Lewis Cookery School and presented live cookery demonstrations at Borough Market, The Chocolate Show, The Streatham Food Festival and The Saint Albans Food Festival.
When he is not demonstrating how to bake with Divine Chocolate he can be found teaching music or spending time with his wife Amy and their young daughter, Rosie.
