As co-winner of 2013’s ‘The Three Chocolateers’ competition, Manchester resident, Gloria Lilley is a trained Chocolateer and Brand Ambassador for Divine Chocolate, the world’s only farmer-owned chocolate company.
Gloria’s joy of food began through watching her Ghanaian-born mother whipping up delightful dishes from scratch. No food was too ambitious, and growing up with the concept of ‘a pinch of this and a spoonful of that’, gave Gloria a relaxed philosophy in the kitchen and the confidence to try and make any dish or recipe.
In 2017 Gloria deepened her passion for food and trained as a Microbaker under Virtuous Bread’s award winning baker Liz Wilson (aka Ma Baker). Gloria subsequently ran her own bread subscription club whilst combining her skills as a chocolateer to teach others the love of breadmaking.
As a Divine Chocolateer, Gloria teaches workshops, delivers chocolate talks and leads chocolate tastings. The workshops get participants involved in the kitchen, the talks share the History of Chocolate and the Bean to Bar story, whilst the tastings awaken all five senses to fully enjoy what the chocolate has to offer.
Gloria has delivered team building workshops with Propercorn, Kew Gardens, Booths The Co-op as well as working with Whole Foods, The Chocolate Show and Eighth Day Co-Operative.
When Gloria is not demonstrating or leading workshops with Divine, she can be found spending time in Manchester with her husband Mat and young son, Kai.
