Chocolate sugar cookies with a melting snowman on top! A sticky marshmallow forms the head with a melting pool of icing sugar glaze and chocolate faces, arms and hats. They are naturally vegan, easy and fun to make with little ones.



⅓ cup vegan butter or margarine

⅓ cup sugar

3 tbsp plant-based milk

1 ⅔ cup plain flour, plus extra for dusting

¼ cup Divine Drinking Chocolate

1 tsp baking powder

A pinch of salt

1 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting

2 tbsp water

16-18 marshmallows

Sprinkles for eyes etc

2 tbsp Divine 70% Dark Chocolate bar, melted


Step 1

Cream together the butter and sugar until soft and silky and then stir in the milk.

Step 2

Pour in the flour, Divine Drinking Chocolate powder, baking powder and a pinch of salt and stir to a thick dough. Roll into a ball, wrap tightly and place in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Step 3

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350*F and line a work surface with parchment paper and a dusting of flour.

Step 4

Roll the dough out between two sheets of parchment to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out circles or shapes and transfer to a lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10-11 minutes until firm and crisping at the edges. Transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool fully.

Step 5

Stir together the icing sugar and water to a thick paste and spread over the cookies in a melting design (or pipe it on for neater “puddles”). Allow the icing to set.

Step 6

Top each cookie with a marshmallow snowman and then place some sprinkles on for buttons. Use the melted chocolate and a toothpick to add on faces and arms and top add some chocolate on top of the marshmallows for hats. Allow to set and dust with icing sugar.
